Brian Chevalier and Susan Hamlin are two of the Southern Adirondack’s most respected acoustic musicians. They have over 50 years combined experience performing before audiences of all ages, as solo touring and recording artists and in ensembles performing music ranging from popular to Celtic/Roots. They've been bringing quality educational programs to schools and libraries since 1996 -- as a duo with their hit program Reading ROCKS!! -- and separately with a wide range of programs including Creative Songwriting Workshops, Absolutely Adirondack, The Civil War: The Music of History, Ireland: The Land of Song, Forever Wild: Create an Adirondack Musical, and multi-day residencies through Capital Region Center For Arts In Education. Brian and Susan's arts-in-ed programs are regular recipients of Creative Connections, NYSCA Decentralization and other public and private grants.

Their professionalism, good humor, outstanding performance skills and love of working with young people shine through in Reading ROCKS!!, a program inspired by their wish to help parents and teachers create a lifelong love of reading in young people. When asked, "Why do you like to do Reading Rocks!! ?" Brian and Susan answer, "Plenty of reasons... First, we just love to play music… we think good reading skills are part of a successful lifestyle... and reading is just plain FUN!"
